How to book your spot For ALL dives not marked as a club dive, please contact the dive boat captain yourself and tell them you would like to dive on the boat that day. You can mention that you are a member of The Dive Club. Sometimes they will ask you who your buddy is. For the club dives, see Savie or Lou about getting a spot on the trip and how to pay the deposit. This will be the only time you pay them direct. All the other dives YOU are responsible for paying the boat captain.

No shows If you have paid a deposit for a club trip but don't show up before the boat leaves, unfortunately you will lose your deposit. If we have chartered the whole boat, the price for other divers may change to compensate for the loss of income to the boat captain. The club may step in to make up the difference or the boat captain may absorb the loss. No matter which scenario happens, someone has made a loss due to a no show. If you have made arrangements directly with the boat captain, then the captain's own policy for no shows comes into effect. No shows is a reflection on the club so please try to avoid them.

Boarding times The above times are the times you are expected to board the boat. It is better to be early than late especially on some boats!!

What to bring Your certification card. Maybe your log book, depending upon the boat captain and if he knows you or not. Obviously your dive gear and any spare parts you may or may not need. Definitely your sea legs. And we won't laugh if you forget those, well, not much. Most boats allow you to barbecue food - if you are not too sure whether your dive boat does, ask the captain before the day of your trip. Of course we don't condone drinking and diving but check with the dive captain as to what refreshments are allowed onboard.

What to leave If you get back on land safely, and the dive boat brought you back (that means you didn't swim), I would leave a tip for the crew. If they helped you get back on the boat, helped you with your gear and any artifacts you may have picked up, I would leave a bigger tip. Please don't leave your rubbish lying around.

Warning Please do not dive beyond your experience and training levels. We are not responsible for you in the water and we recognise that the decision to scuba dive is yours, and only yours, to make. By all means speak to some of the more experienced divers in our club as some of them are willing to chaperone you on a wreck or two.

For more Information drop Savie or Lou an email.
Sometimes it is MUCH MUCH better to phone them; their number is in the newsletters.
